MineCraft crashes when I attempt to join this one server?

So I'm here, browsing through the Minecraft servers, I pick one, press connect. All goes well, Connecting to server… Then Logging in… Then all of a sudden, when both of them disappear, right when it's about to say downloading terrain, it crashes. Not like those normal crashes with the blue background and telling you all the error codes where it says "Minecraft has crashed!". No. It just gives me the dirt screen, it doesn't even tell me that my minecraft is not responding. It just acts as if it's doing it's job when it's not. So I wait for a while, get up, walk around, come back, still not in the server yet. I've restarted my computer twice and it's still not working. I tried deleting my minecraft and redownloading it, but it still does the same thing. But its to this one server, all the other servers work perfectly fine… Any help will be kindly appreciated, thank you.

How to play minecraft with only several people?

So I want to play minecraft but not with 100 random people. I know that their are servers but they have all the rules and "factions" things like that. I want to play with people I know and invite them but I don't know how. A world where you can do whatever you want like single player but with people I want to invite. How do I do this?

How to Allocate more ram to Minecraft?

I'm trying to allocate 2GB of ram to Minecraft when the current default is 1GB. My system has 8GB so I know it is perfectly capable, but it keeps giving me the error message, "could not reserve enough space for this object heap". I even went to the start menu, "Sysdm.cpl", and changed the amount of allocated memory in the system, and it still can't "reserver enough space". How to I free up enough space for minecraft? Where is the other 7GB of ram allocated?

Minecraft Port Forwarding troubles?

I'm trying to set up a server and I can't get it to port forward.
Several times I have been able to access the server I made through my laptop (using my main computer connected directly to router, to manage the server) But now I can't seem to even get that done.

I have a ubee D3.0 U10C03500 router and a cisco linksy E3200 modem.

I have tried everything it seems to get it to port forward. I have tried opening a TCP and separate UDP ports and have them enabled at the same time, I have tried opening one port and have it as both but nothing works. I also have put into my server properties the server and port under server ip.

I heard i may have to make a static ip? How would i go about doing that?

Or anything else i can try before i do that?

Why can't I open my private chests in Minecraft? Pixelmon server?

(I believe the server has bukkit but I'm not sure.)

I placed a private sign with mine and a friend's name on it, and now I can't destroy or access the chest. It claims that it is his chest, though he can't destroy the sign or chest either. The server runs pixelmon if that changes anything. IP: play.pmunleashed.net

Minecraft server IP problem?

I just set up a port forwarded bukkit server, and I was wondering if I'm supposed to put an IP in server.properties file to let my friends connect to it? It's weird because everytime I put an IP in the ip section of the server.properties the server dosen't load, but when I leave it blank, the server loads. The question is: will people be able to connect if I don't provide an ip in the server.properties?
