Minecraft Tinkers Construct mod not working?

Ok so i installed the mod correctly because i can use it in the game. When i set up a smeltery (which i have set up correctly because i have done this before and it worked) and put ores in it to smelt i can't drain them out. I click the faucet which usually works but nothing happens. It worked fine before but now it doesn't. Please help.

How to make the Aether 2 mod for Minecraft 1.6.2 run smoother and faster?

I play it on a Dell laptop with 4 GB of RAM. I can play Minecraft with the mod but the game is incredibly choppy and slow whenever I run it on the account for Forge Modloader. On my normal account the game is perfectly smooth and has no lag. What can I do to make the Aether run smoothely with no lag like normal? I have tried Game Booster but that doesn't really help.

Okay i'm a huge noob when it comes to technical stuff so just hear me out ok? I've spent hours trying to figure out how to download mods and all that. I've bought minecraft and i know how to go on servers and all that but my problem is mods. I have downloaded forge on my computer but there was an error saying i needed to have to manually open minecraft version 1.6.4 and i have that version so i deleted forge. I have no clue what.jar is and.zip files and all that jazz. Please i need a huge tutorial on how to do all this stuff. I know how to open files but i don't know how to extract files and all that. Please help this poor noob! D:
