How to download mods for minecraft?

Yeah. I'm a noob. I know how to download texture packs but not mods DX

Mkay so, I have minecraft 1.7.4 Please help this noob.

I suggest changing your version to 1.6.4 and playing with that. Makes it much easier. If you use mods on 1.6.4 use the steps I posted here:
