I literally just got Minecraft twenty minutes ago. I was exploring the menu and hit multiplayer. Up popped a message saying my firewall was blocking something. I accidentally clicked cancel and it disappeared before I could read it. Now when I go to multiplayer it says "looking for servers on local network" but never finds anything. Did I mess something up? If so, what is the solution?
I would like to know how much it costs to set one up, and how I'm supposed to do that. I want to know what a server needs. I want to create a seerver with a group of friends, and become a big server. What is 'hosting'? How much does it cost?
I'm running a server and I want to get people to join my it, I really enjoy playing with other people and getting to meet new people, thats why I have decided to make a server.
I would really appreciate it if you would be able to give me a hand on this one!

I love the server MightyTag, but it isn't available at the moment, and I want to go on a server which is similar to it.
I'm on a minecraft server and there's a riddle for a treasure that I'm completely stumped on. It is as follows: On a trip we will go around the world you and me but coords may not always play nice you will see, start your journey with supplies at daylight, do not forget to slide 2 points to the right, this city is nice and filled with "roos" that careen and it starts with a B and is heard at halloween, so now youre close but the list is too long to bloat so thing of something which you do in a boat --- Thats the riddle and I'm completely fooled by it. I understand some parts may not make sense unless you actually play on the server, but anything that might help me understand would help
So a few days ago I was on a tekkit server and suddenly this guy joins and threatens a DDOS attack, now the server is down because of this, what the owner has asked everyone to attempt to find a fix, any suggestions? He wants a program that's free to use. Any help is appreciated.
What minecraft server should I play on and what games are there?
So me and my brother used to play Minecraft 24/7. We can't play anymore as of a few days ago because of some of the language that was being used on some servers. Are there any games like Minecraft that have any of the following:
3D world (not like it pops out of the screen, but like Minecraft's world)
Not a complete copy of Minecraft with just different textures
The ability to craft, mine, fight monsters, kill animals and collect food, farm, build, etc.
Multiplayer, singleplayer, and LAN multiplayer
Downloadable maps
Vehicles
Guns
Weapons
Tools
A variety of building supplies

I made a server with friends and after making me op, I can't see the chat anymore. How can I fix this?
I want to make a Minecraft server with someone that knows how to make one -
I tried to make one, but, I was following the instructions, and it required something my computer didn't have. I searched for it on my computer, and the internet said only Mac's had it. So, I gave up and deleted everything.
If you know how to: Make a server, add tools and armour to your hotbar when you begin the world, teleport (have a sign that says "Mining", and when you right click you go to a mine), etc.
