My Minecarft Server On Mac IS Not Working?

I'm trying to make a minecraft server that me and my friends can play together on. I successfully made the server and it worked for a while till now. When i started up the server it made different files with an error code saying this

Is there a minecraft server no one uses?

Me and my friend to create one but we failed. Is there server where isn't anything much done and no one uses?

Minecraft Help - Servers?

OK, so I have a friend, he is a computer guy, and he doesn't want to join a small Minecraft server. He says he doesn't want to play because he WILL GET A DDOS! Not if. How can I convince him that playing on a server is ok and YOU WILL NOT GET A VIRUS! I have a VIP on the server, which means I can report others.

My minecraft server will run on my one laptop but not on the other. What is wrong?

What is this minecraft minigame called?

I can't remember what its called but here is some details about the minigame: ok so you get points everytime you kill a mob then with these points you can get a upgrade for your armor or weapon, you can get potions too. There are a lot people on that minigame i think that there are classes too if i remember right. And the minecraft youtubers did a video about it, sadly i can't find it. The goal of the minigame is just to kill every mob you so. So please help me xD

Minecraft Server timeout?

So my friend is at my house and we want to play some freakin Minecraft but we can't. I kept getting the "java.net.connectexpection: no further information" error (I think that's what it was). I'm pretty good with computers and I tried a few things, including turning off Windows Firewall, going in the MC launcher to use version 1.6.4, going into System32 and deleting anything in the hosts file that says Minecraft (there wasn't anything but still), and stuff like that. Still, it doesn't work. I know millions of people still play this game and my friend can do this at his house, without any tweaking. I've got TWC and he's Century link but that's the only difference besides speed.

I want to play with my friend from MA (i'm in and) with a parkour map I made. We can't afford our own server, but if it comes to that- I will. I'd like to save my money, so if I could find a way to play without a server but just us two, or to get a really CHEAP server, that'd be great.
