Game lag really bad all of the sudden?

I transport my laptop from y mother's house to my father's house every week. At my mother's house I was playing Team Fortress 2 and the lag was unbearable. I tried playing Minecraft and I tried multiple servers which resulted in the same problem. So after seeing if my browser was working, which it was perfectly, I just gave up on gaming for that week. Soon after, I went to my father's and the same thing happened. We tried Team Fortress 2, Minecraft, and Magicite; none of them working. I tried a system restore and shutting down my PC for a while and none of them worked.

Minecraft server 1.7.10 won't work?

I downloaded the server, change the eula to true and run it then my friend connects to the Hamachi we type in the code i can get on the server my friend can't we have completely run out of ideas and there's nothing on the internet.

Minecraft, still popular?

So, Minecraft was released in 2009 and now it's 2014, one of the most well known and popular Indie games on the internet.

I want to setup a server, the server will cost £15 a month ($25 for you Americanos, if my math is correct that is)
I also want to make a bit of money out of this server, which means I'll need a good strong helpful community.

I'm considering the factors that could affect my success and I've come up with popularity and demand.

Is Minecraft still popular and played often by many people?

And is the demand for servers in Minecraft high or low?

Please give me fact and not opinion, I'm researching whether or not it'd be worth my time and money and it doesn't help if I have people who know as much as I do about Minecraft servers replying to this question

Minecraft Server problem - imbis core ID error?

I have a multiplay minecraft server (small server just for me and a couple friends), took me a while to get it working - i've never run a server before, but i have it sorted now. Been playing on the technic launcher hexxit, volz and now trying to play tekkit, but it comes up with an error when i try to play on it - my single player works fine. I think it's a problem with the ID for imbis being the same as something else but i'm probably wrong. We've tried looking online for patches or fixes but couldnt find anything - if anyone has had this problem tell me please if you know how to fix it or if i should just go back and try a different mod pack, we've always wanted to play tekkit so it would be a shame:/ please help.

Minecraft Craft Bukkit server?

I made a Minecraft bukkit server but when I try to do some commands such as /tp player name 1 player name 2 a message shows up saying I do not have the permission to do so…
I don't know what's going on but I noticed a permission file but I have no idea what to do with it.

So i downloaded the minecraft central server and it has hide n seek on it and i love the escape Alcatraz map because i memorized it but i've seen a couple of people in a tree behind the basketball court and i was wondering if anyone knew how to get up there
