Why does my Minecraft doesn't show my skin?

I was playing Minecraft on a multiplayer server and enjoying my time but, my skin was Steve. I didn't really like Steve skin because, it looks kinda a noob. I kept changing my skins and tried over 5-6 skins. But it didn't work at all. I had to reset my Minecraft everytime. My friend said my skin doesn't show because, I have a Username over 8 letters. And I was like "What?" My friend doesn't know exactly but, he got that fact from Minecraft server that he plays… I don't really know what to do.
And it's very annoying, I don't want to play as Steve. My MC Username is IcySpying

I can't find a perfect skin on Minecraft?

I always find a cute skin and save it to my character, but then I see someone else with a nice skin and make that my skin. It goes on and on and on, can someone tell me how to find a skin I will keep for a while?

My minecraft skin rig file for cinema4d WON't OPEN?

Every time I try to open it with either winrar or 7zip I get an error message saying unknown format or damaged how can I get this file open I've spent hours trying to figure it out if someone can help me your a lifesaver

Minecraft Random Skin Change?

Okay, so most of the time when I log into other people's servers (Hive, Mineplex, etc.)
My skin randomly changes to something else. When I look at myself, I see a different skin, but my friends see my usual skin. Is this Minecraft itself, the servers I connect to, or is it me?

Minecraft skin not showing up for me (but is for others)?

I was on a server today and had recently changed my skin however I could not see it. To me, I was Steve but to others I was the skin I'd actually uploaded to my Mojang account. Why is this happening and can I fix it?

My minecraft skin won't change?

This has been happening for a while now but whenever i play minecraft on vanilla i'm a steve but i have changed my skin back to a panda skin on multiple occasions and it won't change or on one occasion it did for about 5 minutes then changed, it works perfectly on forge(modded minecraft) but for some reason it won't work on vanilla, if anybody can tell me if its a bug with minecraft skins in general or if its something to do with my computer as i have recently got a brand new gaming pc so i hope its not that option.

I encountered an Indian looking man in Minecraft and killed me? Anyone?

It happened like 2 years ago. I was playing minecraft on survival mode, no multiplayer or anything, just me. Then I fell into a cave, like a vertical entrance to a cave but there was another player with skin like an indian, no shirt wearing a mask and began to attack me with a bow. I died but I thought it was something normal because I didn't had much time playing minecraft.

After two and a half years I tried looking if it appeared again but it didn't and I searched and searched if anyone out there had experienced that or what kind of mob was it.

Too bad I couldn't take a picture.

And two finale things: no, I'm not trying to troll or anything and second, no it wasn't Herobrine.

Added (1). Ah! And it wasn't a zombie either, it was still daylight and didn't have armor, like just a man with no t-shirt.
