What is the quickest, easiest way to make a Minecraft server for the PC?

My three friends and I want to make a server for just us. Does anyone know a way to do so?

I have Java 7 installed and put in the server ip. ( internal ip address ).

Minecraft 1.8 Server closes after a few minutes?

I just downloaded the new server file. The server stays open for 5-10 minutes then closes. The game gives me the message {Communication Error Server Closed} I have tried re-downloading the server and Minecraft.exe I restarted my cpu, nothing. Any advice would be very helpful.

I'm playing Minecraft on my server (1.8) and I have command blocks set up to go in circles and do the same commands, but it keeps giving the notification of the commands happening. Is there a way of turning this off?

Can someone please give me a straight answer. I have been searching for about 3 months on how to do this and no one is helping me.
