What is the best Australian Minecraft Server?
I want to make a minecraft server, but I don't have enough money to buy a dedicated one yet, so for the time being I want to host a server on my laptop. I have already portforwarded 25565 on my router so i'm good on that, I just want to know if my laptop is good enough to handle a 8-24 player server. My server will be vanilla, no bukkit or forge or anything else, just good ol' classic vanilla.
Cpu: Intel Quad Core i7-3632QM CPU @ 2.20GHz
RAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3
Graphics: 2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M
Download speed: 4mbgs
Upload speed: 1mbss
I just portforwarded a Dynmap Server on a Netgear router for my Minecraft Server, and I need to know if it's only working for localhost or if it's really portforwarded in there. So if you could just put
192.168.1.2:8129
in your URL then give some feedback if it works or not, that would be great.
And if it googles it then it means I have failed my quest of port forwarding correctly with a different port of 8129.
Thanks
Added (1). So if it's using a private IPv4 Address do I port it to my external IP?
Added (2). Okay so can you try it with 98.197.178.158:8129
It worked on local for me.
I have 6Gbs of ram
I have a 3.40 GHz Intel i3 2130 CPU
Internet is like 50 down 20 up about
I want to be able to run 64 people smoothly on my server what do I need to do?
My school internet won't let me get on to servers such as League of Legends, Minecraft, etc. One solution to this problem is to buy a proxy such as private tunnel. Unfortunately Private Tunnel has been acting up on me lately and not working too well. Can anyone help me to bypass the network restriction in a cheap (or free) way?
I'm thinking of getting a minecraft server that has 1 GB of ram. I'm going to be playing with 4 or 5 other people and only going to have one world(survival). Mob spawning will be off, pvp on and keep inventory on. It is going to be bukkit and to have 3 plugins Greif Prevention, World boarders and world edit. Some people say I should get 1.5 GB of ram but I don't want to pay an extra 3-5 dollars each month for nothing.
What do you guys think?
I opened minecraft earlier today and the textures on the server I was on glitched and all I could see was fire, water, lava and mobs. No solid blocks, through them. Then I tried a singleplayer world and the same thing. I restarted it and deleted it even (Twice, different methods) and it did nothing. It had been playing creepy remixed versions of the original soundtrack, and that was a giveaway that it might be a developer prank. There were also clouds spawning under me. I wanted to know if this was a developer prank or if I could fix it.
Added (1). I had been playing the Snapshot earlier as well!
I'm trying to portforward a minecraft server and I have the portforwarding part done it's just when I go to open the minecraft server it doesn't load chunks and all that. I downloaded the minecraft server off minecraft.net and put it in a new folder and then when I open it, it just stays blank. In the "log and chat" box there should be a bunch of files and things coming up and it should say updating chunks and stuff but its not it just stays blank and when I go to minecraft and search the server I can find it but can't join. So what's going on here and how do I fix it?
Hey anywhere that has server hosting fot free? I saw a guy who got his server for free but he won't tell me how. I want it to be like 50-100 slots
Okay, so I followed the instructions of port forward to the T on how to get the ip addresses and port forward. I have an ip address set up for the server, and when I check the port it says "NOT OPEN" and I've tried lowering my firewall, trying to find the ip AGAIN and noting still works. I've sent the ip I made under the server to my friend, and I've sent my external ip.
I think I'm supposed to be able to click the option that says "Open to LAN" but it's greyed out.
