Help fix my minecraft server error?

So earlier I made a server for minecraft. I can connect perfectly fine, but when my friend tries it gives him this error: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: no further information:

Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks!

. If this is of any importance, it uses hamachi, but my friend is connected to my hamachi network.

Trouble setting up a Minecraft Server?

Hello everyone this is my first time here. I'm having troube setting up a minecraft server. So first, i downloaded the Minecraft Server Jar, and ran it. Then, I logged into my router and after alot of effort, port forwarded the server. I then shut down my firewall for both public and private networks. I then had trouble with my internal ip changing, so i set up a static ip. I then tried to get into my server. I know its supposted to work using the external ip, but it couldnt find the server. It did find the server on the internal ip though, but thats useless to me as i'm trying to set up long distance(just house to house). Any ideas?

Other things to note are: Firstly, i'm pretty certain i did all the steps right except for the static ip one. The problem may be in that, as i have no idea what to write into the dns section. For now, i wrote "8.8.8.8" in the "Preferred DNS" section, and "8.8.4.4" in the "Alternative DNS" Section. Next, you should know that i'm running windows 8.1 on a very underpowered Laptop. I want to play the server with about 4 of my cousins. And i'm using premium minecraft 1.7.9. My cousins are also on 1.7.9, and my cousins and i have no connection problems. But all 4 of my cousins are using a cracked
launcher (i fixed that problem by setting the server settings to "offline") Thats about it. If you need any more info, just ask. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Added (1). The server is on 1.7.9 and on the latest snapshot. Here's how to update to the newest snapshot(easily) so you can play on it!
-*Create new profile for development versions. Press New Profile button on the launcher. A dialog will open:
-*Name it something like 'Snapshots'.
-*Check Enable experimental development versions("snapshots").
-*Choose the snapshot you like to use.
-*Then, Save Profile.

Minecraft Servers are down?

I just tried to play on Minecraft, and the button at the login screen that usually says 'play' said 'play offline' I can get on google fine and surf the web. Xbox Live is working as well. When I finally got it to say just 'play' (after a minute of waiting because MC was also being unusually slow) I tried to join multiple server but when I was login into them, it said something about the authent-(I don't know the rest of the word lol) something like that. I also tried logging out then logging back in, but when I tried to log back in, MC said,"Sorry our servers are down right now please try again later. We're working on the problem." Anyways, how do i fix this? I have tried restarting the computer and re-downloading the MC launcher.

Minecraft won't let me play online?

I'm using 1.7.9 and I've never had this issue before. I updated Java recently, so that shouldn't be the problem.

So, when I open the launcher, it says "Play Offline" instead of "Play". My internet is fine, it's running very well and everything else works. I'm not sure why.

When I attempt to connect to a server, it says this:

"Failed to connect to server.

Failed to login: the authentication are currently down for maintenance."

It was working fine earlier…
