Why do Call of Duty games use such minimal internet data?

I got a Telstra Mobile Prepaid Wi-Fi modem, and bought 3 GB with it so start off with. Before I bought it I did some online research and was told by many sites that call of duty uses minimal internet, like only a few MB's every few minutes. I slightly believed it would be low, but not just a few MB's every few minutes. Anyway, I bought the prepaid modem and used it for the first time last night. I had the modem next to me on the couch monitoring it at the end of every game, and it did indeed only use about 10 MB's every 15-30 minutes. I was playing for a good solid 2 hours or so, and only went through about 35 MB's. I now believe it is true that it doesn't use much data.
Can someone please tell me WHY Call of Duty uses such minimal Internet data? This isn't for a fix or anything, it's just that I'm really curious, as I played Minecraft at my mums a few months ago (IU live at Dad's) and that used about 11 GB in only a few days!

Why can't my Alienware laptop can't run games properly?

I have the m17x from 2012 not sure on the specs but it has no upgrades, fully stock. Games like don't starve and minecraft which i could play with 100 fps before now play with 3-15 fps, i've tried everything i could and watched many tutorials on how to dedicate ram to a game or use nvidia control panel (Which i don't have) and i can't get things to run smooth. Do i need a new graphics card? I have 16gb of ram by the way.

What computer would you recommend for me?

I want a gaming computer bascially. I don't want no 1,200$ high tech computer. I just need somthing that will last me a couple or few years. I want a gaming computer that i can play, Minecraft, and probably some of the older call of dutys, like Mw2, Waw, Bo1. But I'm looking for somthing thats 200-300? I'll maybe go up to 400 but thats gotta be somthing thats great and has everything. (Monitor, mouse, keyboard.) Anything you would recommend.

Minecraft 9.0 finite caves and villages?

Hi and umm yeah first off I bought minecraft because of the 9.0 update and I'm not too good on its internal tweaking and stuff anyway, I generated a world (i have an iPhone 3GS) and it was infinite but it would lag sometimes so I switched to finite, anyway, I saw villages and stuff on infinite but on finite I can't ind anyway wolves caves or villages, I was wondering if I have to toggle them on some how when using finite worlds or are they not in the finite worlds and only in infinity worlds?

Make a teleporter in Minecraft?

Could you make a teleporter and walk through it and pop out somewhere else? It would really help if I were able.

Make things move in Minecraft?

Could you make something like an airplane/robot/spaceship/car out of just blocks, and make it be able to move?

How to change my name safely, in MINECRAFT?

How can I change my name safely, in MINECRAFT?

Added (1). Now, if I change my name I would be able to play with my brothers on multiplayer, but sadly I can't because we all have the same! My mom just used my java and mojang to the other computers or something, so that we wouldn't pay more stinking money. Now if changing my name cost money, I will not accept! Whoever helps me change my name, will get a big fat 10 points!
