What's the best desktop for gaming?

So i saved up around 1,000 for a new computer, and I love gaming such as Minecraft and whatnot (don't make fun) and i don't know a lot about computers. I'm also going to be a freshman so will need it for school work so i would like a fast effective computer. Does anyone have a recommended good gaming desktop? Also my brother knows a lot about this stuff and tells me he can build one, but i'm a little hesitant at that. Would it be better for him to build me one? Hes 26.

Need the laptop to run Microsoft Word and Steam games: Skyrim, Minecraft, etc. Without lag. Also am planning on downloading music studio software. I'm going to buy a new gaming laptop soon?

I'm not sure what brand/model to get. There's on that I have my eye on (Link) http://store.asus.com/us/item/201503AM110000025/A23718. I will play games like skyrim, BF3, (GTA5? Can I?), Saints Row 3, Minecraft (mostly technic laucher), ARMA3, Just Cause 2 and 3 and so on. So if you know if this laptop will run these or you know a better one please answer.

P.S My price rang is under 1700$

For the life of me, I can't get Minecraft t work?

For years, I've been able to run the Teamextreme version of Minecraft without a problem. It wasn't until sometime last year when it wouldn't work anymore. The launcher would close after I press play and then it would pop open again to tell me the game had crashed. Is there anything I could do?

Yes, I've already tried reinstalling the game and updating Java several times. I'm hoping for some fresh advice but I'll definitely appreciate anything 'cause I'm hopeless!

I'm planning on renaming my YouTube channel and I can't think of any new names. I do Call of Duty, CS: GO and Minecraft. I would like to have a one word
name like Instinct, which I had before, but I realized that there were way too many people named Instinct for anyone to find me. I have "Embark" "Virtue" "Nefarious" etc. Thanks!

How to learn to program young?

So I'm 12 and 13 in october. And so many things inspire me to do things that can bring a smile to people and one of those things I wanna learn is how to program. I barely know some java because minecraft modding but the videos I was watching to learn stopped coming out. But I don't wanna be restricted to a game that s so overdone and one day in near future be replaced by c++ after learning java. So I wanna learn how to program, what can teach me, and what's the best programming language for beginners.

Windows 10 update ruined my gaming drivers?

I updated to windows 10, i really liked it but when i went to play GTA V or even minecraft it made it so slow i literally could not do anything.

I heard nvidia drivers were messing up in the update? I went back to 8.1 and everything worked great.
