I bet most of you have played minecraft.
And I've got this case - I have an awesome world in 1.7.2 with tons of mods, and it took me so long to make it. But I want to install some mods for it that are compatible with newer versions. So can I install them on an old version, and if I can - HOW?!
So, I've been playing MC Comes Alive, and I have a really nice family established… But my game keeps crashing. What I was wondering is, "If I delete the mod, then reinstall, will I lose all my saved stuff?" I just want my husband and three children to be okay when I come back!
I've noticed something recently. So many little kids like Minecraft! I'm 18 and had to go work at my mom's daycare center for the day because her only worker was sick. I literally see all these kids wearing Minecraft shirts talking about Minecraft and how cool it is! I'm addicted to gaming and tried Minecraft and I think it's boring! I really do not see why so many kids are drawn towards Minecraft. I see Minecraft toy's in the store, Minecraft PS4 version, possible Minecraft movie, Minecraft Forums, Minecraft Wiki, Minecraft news, Minecraft Mods, Minecraft Youtube videos, too much Minecraft! Also type M in Youtubes search bar. The first thing you see is Minecraft. I also understand more lets just say "mentally challenged" kids love Minecraft. Can someone please explain why so many kids like this game? You never see adults/teenagers playing either besides the people who want to be famous on Youtube.

I've heard that they could help improve minecraft's FPS, but I have been unsuccessful in finding one that still works.

Does anyone have any tips on how to reduce lag spikes? Specifically in the nether. I've gotten like 3 lag spikes ever on the overworld, so it's not really an issue up there. I already tried using optifine and using pure vanilla minecraft to no avail. I believe optifine did help, but I still get a reasonable amount of lag spikes in the nether either way. I have good/adequate FPS the whole time (approximately 50 FPS), including the moment before and after a lag spike. The lag spikes only last like 1 second at most, but happen frequently. If anyone has another lag spike reducing mod/program in mind, i'm all ears for that!
I'm asking this question again because I didn't really explain my self before but, i'm looking for a labtop that will run minecraft smoothly without any lags when i'm using HD texture packs and mods. Can someone please tell me if any model of the Toshiba satellites will run this well. Now minecraft will be the only game I will get for this labtop, as it is not permanently for gaming. I will also be using a labtop for school and stuff. I just want to know if any Toshiba satellite model will run this pretty decent. If it doesn't please recommend a labtop that will, my budget is also kinda tight so nothing over 600$.
Okay, so I'm running about 12 mods. BiblioCraft, Better World Generation, Clothing Craft, Compact Display, Damage Indicators, Extra BiomesXL, Morphing, Pixelmon, Rei's Minimap, Twilight Forest and Useful Pets. Everytime I try to run it, though, the little corner where it says the minecraft version and whether or not its using forge, it says 3 mods. I have all the side mods (CountryCraft), I'm using the most recent forge, and I have modloader.
