Minecraft Multiplayer Server?

My friends and I want to join together in a multiplayer world and we keep turning on LAG and I don't know how to set up the server. It's a single player world but I want to make it a multiplayer world is there a way to set this?

Minecraft server running even when stopped?

I'm trying to make a server for minecraft because my friend's internet went down and we need to run it with mine. When I run it and go to the ip "localhost" it isn't my server! When I close down the command prompt, the "localhost" server is still running! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

How to port forward two routers?

I'm trying to port forward a minecraft server on port 25565, but I can't get it to open.

1. Router 1 or Xfinity modem/router(is connect to router 2 or Linksys)
2. Router 2 or Cisco Linksys E1200(is connected to my computer)
3. Router 2 Dmz is disabled and is port forwarding port 25565
4. Router 1 Dmz is on and has Routers 2's IP in the box and port forwarding is Disabled

I can only connect to the server from router 2's ip.
My online IP i can't connect to only local ip.

How to get people to join my minecraft server?

I set up a minecraft server using the jar off minecraft.net and then used hamachi. All of my friends have hamachi and we got that whole network thing sorted out but from there I have no clue what to do. We have tried just putting my ip in but that didn't work. The server is ready and running I just have no clue on how to get them to join. Please help and no I'm not going to just watch a video.

What caused this error and what can i do to fix it? Tekkit Server?

I have a dedicated tekkit server being hosted by Nitropanel. I have just gotten it and i've been able to run it. I noticed once i started up the server no mods were in the world. I deleted all the mods and i went in to.technic on my computer, and went into the mods. I copied those mods into my filezilla tekkit server mods folder, and restarted. This then spammed the console with this error:

Why can't I host a Minecraft FTB server?

When I try to host a FTB server the CMD window says that it is done but when other people try to connect it says "Can't connect to server". I can connect using the hamachi ip address and local host.
I'm running the server in offline mode and have even tried turning off the mcafee firewall.Here is a copy of the properties file.

Is anyone willing to build a spawn for me on my minecraft server?

I just recently made bukkit minecraft server the other day. I'm not a builder what-so-ever and I really need a willing player to help build a spawn for the server. I'm getting timed out of my own minecraft server?

So recently I set up a server for me and my friend to work on. We both can connect fine but in about 10 minutes we time out. When we time
out I see the error code: connection lost internal exception: io.netty.haner.timeout.readtimeoutexcept… Every time we time out, it says the server is overloaded in the console. The server is a bukkit 1.7.2 beta build. The server runs a min of 3gb ram and a Max of 5gb on my 8gb ram AMD quad core processor
