How to quickly pick up items in chests on Minecraft Survival Games?

I have Minecraft 1.7.4 and I go on Multiplayer servers that involve the Survival games, as in which some people call 'Hungercraft'.

Anyways, I was wondering how to quickly select an item inside a chest to put into my hot bar or my inventory without having the drag it there.

I have tried multiple methods people have told me.
Including shift clicking, hovering over the item and clicking Q, etc.
Help me, please and thank you <3.

Added (1). Thanks so much guys it really worked, sorry for the trouble haha

HOW DO PEOPLE USE IPV6 FOR THEIR SERVERS?

I'm try to make a minecraft server for my friends and me, but my computer and router/modem use IPv6. I hear that it can work just don't know how to get it to work. All I know is that IPv6 doesn't need to be port forward, like IPv4 does.

I have tried disabling IPv6 in the windows Network and sharing properties. Then port forwarding 25565 to my local computer, but it didn't work. <----- I could have done something wrong.

I have tried using DMZ for the server so all the ports would be open, but didn't seem to work.

Info:
- I have a Windows 8 computer
- Router/Modem is the Xfinity Arris TG862
- I'm using Ethernet
- I'm using the minecraft_server.jar not.exe
- Have been trying to get this to work for the last 3 days
- I connect to my Router/Modem through 10.0.0.1

A good Minecraft server with these components?

I'm looking for a survival server with the following things: Survival, you can build in your designated area, friends can come and see you and help you, and doesn't have mobs (peaceful).

If you can find one of these that also has pre-installed mods.

How to make a minecraft LAN?

My boyfriend and I are in the same house. He is on the desktop, I'm on my laptop. We want to play minecraft together. So how do I create a LAN server? He went to open lan, and then I went went to multiplayer and waited to see if it would come up. It didn't. So I did direct connect and typed in my IP with the LAN like this "123.456.7.891:56915" The first portion being the IP on the desktop which he created the lan on, and the last five numbers being the port number that showed when he created it. And it keeps saying "Connection timed out, no further information."

How can we play survival together, on peaceful mode, preferably on LAN?

Added (1). I've done all of that. It doesn't show up on my multiplayer list, and we're on the same network.

Who has a good Minecraft server?

Can't find any good servers. I really need a TOWNY server, preferably 1.7.2 (or latest version of minecraft), not to many rules, and that you earn money from jobs and have maybe a low amount of people using it.

I can't destroy blocks or build in my Minecraft server?

I just set up a Minecraft server and everything was working well. It's just a raw vanilla server and my buddies and I played on it for a while. Blowing stuff up, switching from creative mode to survival, opping and de-opping and basically everything you can do on a raw server. We didn't run into ANY problems the whole time.

I then decided to try and add bukkit and get some more commands in there but java was acting up and being a pain, so after all my efforts, I decided to just wipe everything and start clean. Shortly after starting the clean server, I hopped in and went to test it out. As soon as I spawned, I opped myself from the server console and changed my gamemode to creative.

I flew around a bit, changing the time and weather and such, then decided to change my gamemode back to survival. As soon as I did this, my player was unable to break any blocks or build anything besides destroy the one hit blocks like grass and flowers and mobs and such. I've switched back and forth between creative and survival and have had no luck. Only being able to break and destroy in creative mode.

I ran into this problem before actually and the only solution was to delete my world and start a new one. Although, I have found that this does not permanently fix the problem as I have run into it again. I'm really starting to get annoyed with it and have looked around for a solution but have not found anything usefull. I've oped myself, I've gone 500+ blocks away from spawn, I'm not finding any solutions.

Smallish Minecraft server I could play on tonight?

I'm just a little tired of playing on huge Minecraft servers, so does anyone have or know a smallish server (maximum of like 100 people) ? ^_^ I would really like to play with some people (:

(also, I have Hexxit or Tekkit, so a server for that would be good as well) :3

How to get a Minecraft Server to work when I use IPv6?

I'm trying to run a minecraft server on port 25565, but I can only connect to me local Ip. Normally I would get the ip from Google Search "What's my ip". When I do that I get a long line of numbers that people call IPv6. So my question is how do I still use IPv4 or can I use IPv6.
