I have been playing minecraft for a while and have never experienced fps lag, i was playing this morning with 50fps. But when i logged on this afternoon, i lagged extremely bad, my fps was between 0 and 10. I haven't downloaded anything recently. Any ideas?
Added (1). it also lags on singleplayer, and all servers, so its not an internet problem
I just build a minecraft server which is bukkit, but my self don't really spend a lot time on it because i'm still in middle school. So anyone that like to help me build and be an awesome admin on my server, and you are able to spend really a lot time on my server that help me. And i want to say a lot of people help other server need to have paid, but i can pay money tho, i just want a nice admin player and know a lot about minecraft.
IF YOU WANT TO BE AN ADMIN you need to have the same clock time as Los Angeles, and you can spend more than 5 hours or more time on my server most day of the week.

Added (1). Jesus, i saw your answer, how much time you can play per day, and what's your zone time, it is how many hour later or earlier than LA?
I'm hosting just a small Bukkit server for about five friends. I'm on a satellite Internet plan so I need to know how much data it uses when it's up. If I were to leave it up 24/7 I'd say people would only be on it for 1-2 hours per day, if that helps.
Every server I join the second you get out of spawn the land is recked and you get killed by someone with good armor. So maybe a server with no PVP and you can only build or mine on your plot of land? It also has to be 1.7.2- 1.7.4

I just made a Minecraft server which is survival, and this server can have 18 players play at the same time, and i know it is not that much people, but i just want to ask if you want to play with me, just for fun. And there are PVP, and shop, something, and you don't need to worry other steal your stuff of grief your house, because there has lockette plugin, you can lock your chest and house. I'm looking into to building my own private server. Just a small server I can access my files on the go with remote access as well as hosting a private minecraft server for me and about 7 other people. We'll say 15 to be safe. I don't think hardware will be much of an issue since I have lots of experience building computers already, but I don't have much experience with starting/hosting a network, so I'm wondering Is there a difference between the ISP's that servers use vs say comcast or century link?
Since I'm hosting a game I want the connection to be stable and have a decent upload and download speed, but at the same time I don't want it to cost very much since I would be paying for this isp in addition to my internet bill for my house. Also, (bonus question. ) is there a way to have the same isp but some how "portion" the bandwidth out so that the server has enough to host the game and not cause server-side lag but so that I could still use the internet for other things (browsing the internet, gaming, streaming, Facebook)?
Maybe there's a better way to do this? I'm new to all of this network business since connecting to the internet these days is fairly user-friendly on windows. Which brings me to another question (sorry) What operating system do you recommend, keeping my basic knowledge of computer networks in mind? I've heard Linux based OS are what most people use, but I also know you can use Windows as well. Please keep in mind this isn't going to be a large server just a small private server.
I have a Home hosted bukkit server and use mcmyadmin and it limits you to 10 players and i have 2gb of ram right now and have 4gb installed in the computer and am using these plugins essentials, groupmanager, clear lag, ptweaks, enjin, votifier, multiverse, multiv… Portals, and multiverse inventorys
OK i have a mine craft server. I port forward and it worked, at first i downloaded a bunch of random virus software (avast, sbybot, malware, Norton and mcaffe). I then uninstalled all of them. But sbybot said it had to keep programs. But it still won't work help
All I want to know is how to let other players play on my server without opening to lan or any of that stuff. I also want to know how they can go on my server without me being on it or anything. Please answer this question As soon as possible!
