So I love video games big fan of sports games and minecraft 7 days to die Ect but I feel like I maybe spend to much time? I play all day sometimes like 6-7 hours but I also play basketball but weekend I play a good amount if hours so I'm wondering if I should cut back and also how many hours does a professional spend?

I recently downloaded minecraft and i click "play" on the window and when i click it nothing happens. It loads the little green bar down at the bottom and after that nothing will happen, please help.
Everytime i try to allocate more ram and run it a message pops up saying that is failed to run the java virtual machine or something like that and i have the latest version of java
pc specs:
windows 8
8 Gigabytes of ram
500 gigabyte hard drive
64-bit operating system
i'm trying to allocate 4 gigs of ram and this is what i'm putting -Xmx4096M -Xms4096M or -Xmx4G -Xms4G

I have a decent computer. I've bought FRAPS and everything, I've recorded 3+ hours of footage with no lag, but when I record Minecraft, it drops the framerate so much. I go from like 300+ FPS to like 20 and below. I doubt it's my computer. I've set Minecraft's priority to realtime, defragged my drive. Everything I could think of.
Downloaded minecraft but for some reason it won't run it it only opens up the file if someone could link me a video or explain how to or what i'm doing wrong would be greatly oppreciated
Just got my brande new alienware computer and tried downloading minecraft all i got was a.exe file that i can't run can anyone help please

Alright, so I'm a huge fan of the genres listed above (obviously). The problem is that I have played so many of them that I can't think of any others. Metro, Elder scrolls, STALKER, DayZ, Assassin's Creed, GTA, FTL, Minecraft (along with FTB and Tekkit), Dishonored, Far Cry, Just Cause, Fallout, Contagion, ArmA, and L4D are most of the series' I can think of right now. I need my desire for open world games to be quenched, and preferably not with older games. I'm going to get Thief and Star Citizen, too. On a side note, I don't really want to play Rust, Saints Row, or 7D2D as well as Starbound as they are too similar to other games I have played.
For my Minecraft username, does "GaiaBuilder" seem like a cool username? I like it because people almost always refer to me as Gaia.
