Minecraft Slow FPS in Fullscreen Mode

Getting to the point quick, my Minecraft runs slow in fullscreen mode. However, when I play Minecraft in windowed, i get 100-200fps. In fullscreen, I get 10fps. Help! My laptop specs are as follows:

What are games similar to minecraft without the blocky graphics? This is coming from a building aspect. I want to play a game in a creative mode that allows me to build on a plot of land. I would like for the game to be more-so medieval, as I love building castles and towns.

Why does my minecraft randomly freeze?

The game will be running at like 70/80 fps and the frames will just randomly drop and it freezes for like a second, its happens every several seconds, i've never had problems before, but this makes the game really difficult to play, any help on how to fix this?
