Why does my Mac do this and how can I fix it?

Whenever I install something (chrome being the only exception) it makes one of those drives you see on the right side of my screen. My Runescape client, Minecraft, and Skype all do this and you notice I also have placed shortcuts to them on my dock. The only problem is every time I turn the computer off, the drives are deactivated and the dock icons annoyingly turn into blank question marks. It's not really a major issue, but it's highly annoying and I want the icons to stay lit up as they are in the screenshot constantly even after a restart.

So I guess my question is multi part. Why does it make these drives? Is there a way to make it so it doesn't? Can I keep the icons as they are instead of turning into question marks? Can I just keep the drives on whenever I reboot?

Newest Macbook Air Gaming Performance?

Yo, so I want to buy the 13.3 inch Macbook Air, and I was wondering how it performs with gaming and videos and such. I know that some of you will say, "oh, why the hell would you buy a mac, especially a laptop, for gaming? There are such better computers to buy!" My answer to that is that I used a macbook pro for entire school year(My school provided) and I got really used to playing on it. So much so that I can't go back to a desktop. So the question I have, how does it perform? I've looked at the specs, but I really don't know too much about computers and stuff, so I don't really know what a lot of it needs. I mostly play Minecraft(surprise surprise) but I also play some other games, but all the other games take less power to play without a lot of lag and such. I also watch a lot of YouTube. I'm talking, a lot. The Macbook Pro easily handled my games and my youtube, so maybe I could find my answer comparing the specs of the two, but I think it would be better to get an answer from someone who actually knows computers. And also, please don't waste your time trying to convince me to buy some other laptop, unless the laptop is extremely efficient and costs roughly the same or less than the macbook air. Added (1). By 'newest macbook air', I guess I mean the one from 2013. The one that released in 2013 that costes $999 for 13.3 inch screen.

Lenovo g505s problems turning on?

Right i bought a lenovo g505s amd a10 and it arrived yesterday. I installed a couple of games i had on my old laptop so i know they are safe, and i got minecraft pc which was my main reason for this laptop. I also got avg 2014 free edition. I used my laptop all day with no issues at all and before i turned it off avg decided to do a full scan and found nothing.
I've been working and got home and turned it on it loaded fine with the lenovo logo and i signed into windows, it has 8.1. But it just loads to a blank black screen with the mouse on it. I don't know if its something i've done wrong or what, i had windows xp before and had no experience with 7, 8, or 8.1.
I've saved up for ages for this laptop and now it won't work D,= any help is appreciated.
If there's a way to restore it to its original state thats fine as i can just redownload minecraft and avg.

I forgot my minecraft password and it won't send to my email?

I had bought a minecraft account last year and I forgot the password but I whenever I log into the email it is on, the email minecraft was suppose to send is not in my inbox or spam! What do I do to fix this?

Why does minecraft not work?

Okay, so I JUST got Minecraft and we downloaded it, but every time I click on Multiplayer it just freezes and crashes saying it's not responding. When I go onto single player I have to create a world since I don't have any and when I click "create world" it freezes and crashes AGAIN! Again it's saying it's not responding, I have tried to delete it and re-download it but it hasn't worked, I've tried turning my computer on and off and still not working. I have a Toshiba Windows 8 computer. If anyone can help me please answer, I really want to play this game with my brother and my friends and it won't let me.

Any games that have factions?

So recently I've been watching sword art online and being a bit if a gamer, I thought it would be fun to play something like that. However I can't seem to find any games that have factions or nations like Sao other than minecraft. It would be really awesome to play like that so please help me out.

So I started my homework a minute ago (and yes, I'm playing minecraft while i'm doing it. ) and when i looked at my history assignment, i saw that i had to research a legend from cameroon (africa). It can also be a story or myth. I looked up legends/stories/myths from cameroon and i looked through LOADS but nothing came up! So, according to you which one of these laptop will give a better gaming experience. And which one has a better overall performance.
Finally for which one I should go, Dell or HP.
