Is a minecraft LAN-world accesible from another account?

So i play some minecraft with my brother and he would load his world and then set it open to the LAN-network so i could join him and we could play together, but he's only home in the weekends and sometimes i would like to play in the week, so i already tried to import his map folder into my minecraft folder, and everything goes fine and if he wants to play in the weekends, i would just give him my world folder and he would paste it, but when i open minecraft, i spawn as his account, with all the items and exp and on the place he logged out. So now i would like to know if it's possible to play on his world without spawning as his account, but as mine.

I triend to play with my bro so I opened my world to LAN but on his multiplayer it just says searching local network. We're both on the same internet connection and minecraft 1.7.10 can anyone help?

So when I chose a name I wouldn't think it would matter because I didn't think I would play multiplayer so I chose a really crappy name and I want to change it I heard 1.8 update is going to let you is this true? And if you already can change your name how do I do it?

How to farm slimeballs on survival mode in minecraft?

I've attempted to create a slime farm today. I failed. I followed all the instructions that I could find online.

Currently I have 2 rooms that are 16x16 and 6 tall. Every 4 blocks I have glowstone set in the floor for lighting. I've waited 4, 5, 7, even 10 minutes. With 0 spawns. I have made sure that I'm at least 24 blocks away from my farm. I've even tried 50 blocks just to be sure.
I've used the slime calculator with my seed number to find my slime chunks and I know that I'm within the correct area.

I explored the surrounding caves and lit up everything I could find.

What am I doing wrong?

Added (1). Also for those who will say it… YES I'm under 40 blocks deep. My first layer is at 11 blocks and my second is a 17

Internet Connection Suffers when playing Single Player Minecraft?

My friend has a problem when she plays Minecraft Single Player. We always like to talk on Skype and she really enjoys to play Minecraft. But the problem is, when talking on Skype and when she launches Minecraft, her internet connection just goes all to hell. Anything else seems completely fine, but only with Minecraft Single player. Even when just launching Minecraft, it kills her connection. I'm pretty confused. She's using a wireless connection, which it's running pretty decently. She has a dedicated wireless card, too. I'm just a bit puzzled on why this problem is occurring. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with her processor since her processor is pretty weak. Here's her computer specs:

Motherboard: MSI 970A-G46 AM3+
CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 260 @ 3.2GHz
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB
PSU: Antec 550 Watt Bronze
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition

Minecraft: crazy craft 2? Keeps crashing?

So I downloaded the void launcher and I loaded everything but when I wanna load a world it takes FOREVER like 3 hours or it crashes on me and I end up loading it again but the SAME THING HAPPENS.hewlp
