Everybody on youtube say I need to do that ram thing with allocating more ram to minecraft I've done that exactly watched like 10 different videos but still doesn't change anything it lags when I'm playing with mods or technic launcher Help!

I recently learned that you can set your home in Minecraft but when I went to look up how, it mentioned that I had to download a Mod to get it. Is there any possible easier way to be able to do this with no downloading. If not, what is the easiest way to download. If you could give me exact directions I would be very grateful. Anyone know some good modpacks for tekkit, or ftb? I tried alot of ftb ones and the either don't have a server file (I Like to play with friends on my own server) or are extremly laggy. I use the Ftb cracked launcher from dropcrack and can't join my ftb unleashed server cause it says i'm missing mods. If you don't know of a modpack but know how to fix this issue or know of a cracked ftb launcher that has All The mods loaded please help. Id prefer ftb unleashed.

Do MineCraft Mods give your computer viruses?
So I'm a PC noob. I've always been a console gamer until a few years ago. I joined steam to play free to play games, and eventually bought games like Garry's mod, counter strike, arma 3, natural selection, etc. I checked the specks for my laptop which is toshiba and my family hp desktop. Both can barely run Garry's mod and counter strike. I'm looking to buy one in the near future. I've heard about steam boxes, but don't know much about them and don't know if i should purchase one in the future. If anyone can list some good gaming pc's that can play games like arma, minecraft, Garry's mod, etc and are at a good budget for a working teen, I'd appreciate it tons.
I'm going to start downloading mods for Minecraft on singleplayer but i have an iMac. Its new and i don't know what's good to download on it. 7zip really only officially supports windows. Is there a program LIKE 7zip that i can use on my iMac but i can also use for mine craft mods?
I have made hidden redstone, the "piston push on minecart" trick, but someone on the server always finds out… I have run out of ideas and i need to hide my stuff. Does anyone have any good ideas to hide my chest? No mods. Redstone or no redstone i don't care.
