Minecraft, installing ICBM mod with current 1.7.4 version?

I have been trying to get this mod to install and it either crashes, does nothing, or some odd response like simply restarting the launcher.

It has been unclear if I have to have a profile selected for the latest version, or a specific version. (As in, does the mod only work if I add everything to a 1.6.2 copy, or do I need to use 1.7.4?)

The frustration has been overwhelming. I follow directions but it leads me nowhere. In each video I have viewed, each problem I have seen resolved on a forum takes me in a promising direction, but they are in another version, not as new as 1.7.4. I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I have tried adding everything into 1.6.4 mods, as it was called. I did again with 1.7.4 mods, both with identical results: nothing happened. I took every file, folder, and piece related to mods and dumped them all in, to no noticeable change.

I need modern directions to installing this mod. This is what I have done so far:

-Made a proper copy of version (i.e. 1.7.4 mods). Including renaming files and adding "mods" after "1.7.4" in the.jsn file.
-Download and extract mod files to above.jar
-Delete META-INF (this seems to be a popular thing to do)
-Made new profile that uses the above mod version
-Launch Minecraft
-Play with newly installed mods, or at least this is what is supposed to happen.

I need a map to follow. One that works with the newer versions that are out. People who have had trouble installing were in older versions and those are the only answers I find.
1) Do I need to install mods to the newest version, or one that they mention (as in, 1.6.4)?
2) Is there a step I'm missing?
3) This really should seem simple, yet I'm getting no successful results.

Minecraft Hardcore mode, few mobs spawning?

When i first started my hardcore game I had hostile mobs spawning relentlessly in my game, which is of course expected in hardcore mode. Now that I actually have my base well established though almost nothing spawns, anywhere in my map. It started when I decided to go on a quest to find a village so I could hopefully get a large amount of potatoes, carrots, and perhaps melons (was a huge success). I ran around the world for 5 minecraft days, leaving a trail of torches so i could find my way back to my base. On the third day of this journey I noticed no hostile mobs were spawning near my little makeshift house, I didn't think much of it though. While in the village I didn't see a single hostile mob, even zombies who should be attracted to villages, and i stayed there for about 2 minecraft weeks while i planted a sugar farm large enough to get emeralds from a villager buying paper so i could buy the melon slices from another villager. Since I have gotten back to my base it's been another 2 minecraft weeks and I have only seen 1 spider, 3 zombies, 1 creeper, and 2 skeletons in that entire time… Even while mining. I have not been playing my other worlds since I've gotten addicted to this hardcore one, and my difficulty had been on normal before i started playing this world. So I know it isn't the glitch where your last world was on peaceful mode and it effects the hardcore world. I suppose I should just be happy that I have some room to breathe, but like i said my base is well established now, so the most interesting part of the game is the monster killing and the never ending search for diamonds. But I'm very curious why it is that so few mobs are spawning anywhere in my map. Anyone know what causes this or what may fix it?

Added (1). I don't currently have any mods installed for 1.7.4, I have the moar food Mod on forge for 1.6.4 but I'm not playing my forge profile or 1.6.4

How to install Forge universal?

Hi, I made a minecraft server on mac and wanted to play on it with some mods. I went on it and try to use the mods and this screen came up that said, "End of Stream" I did a little research and then tried installing forge universal. I unzipped both the minecraft_server.jar, and the forge universlal file and dragged the contents of forge into the server files. I changed it back to a jar and when i opened it it said minecraft_server.jar could not be launched. Does anyone know the correct installation of Forge universal for 1.6.4 on a mac?

How much RAM do can I get the best FPS in Minecraft?

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium with the Optifine mod installed, Even with that I get 17-35 fps. In my JVM Arguments I have it at -Xmx1G whatever that means, I'm wondering what else I can put there to make it go faster.

How to download and install minecraft mods?

Is this enough for gaming?

just read the specification since the other things are in indonesian, and not in english. I just need to know whether its enough for gaming. I'll be using it to play DayZ standalone, minecraft, a bunch of Garry's mod, and other games that are probably heavy. Is it enough to handle, maybe like, battlefield 4 kind of game?

can you please also point out the bad sides and give recommendation as to what to replace so that it can handle battlefield 4 without any difficulties? Price doesn't really matter as long as it doesn't exceed 1500 dollar, a few hundred dollar more will be okay though

How to get HD resource packs to show up in Minecraft 1.7.4?

I've been struggling with this for a while now. I can get texture packs to show up just fine by selecting them from the "Available Resource Pack" option, but even after installing MC Patcher, I still can't figure out how to get HD packs to show up in-game. I'm very new at modding this game and am completely lost. For example, I'm trying to get the Chroma Hills resource pack to work. But it's like there's different files than I'm used to.

I have a great gaming computer with a brand new graphics card so it can definitely handle high definition mods. If someone could explain to me in detail how to get these to show up it would be greatly appreciated.

I have the MC Patcher and HD Texture Fix currently installed onto my computer. It's the steps to get these HD resource packs to show up in the game I can't figure out.

I included a photo of the files inside the resource pack i was trying to install if it offers any assistance in figuring this out.

Minecraft running at 0-5 fps?

I just got a new laptop. An asus 401u that has AMD as its graphics driver. I'm not very good with computers and was wondering if anyone had any advice.

I have:
updated graphics card
run virus scans
closed extra windows down
tried using optifine mod and also MCpatcher (separately)
set all settings to tiny, no clouds, decreased particles, default texture packs etc.

last thing is that once in a blue moon, itll run at 20-30 fps on normal distance and normal difficulty, But that has only happened maybe 4-5 times ever.

How hard is it to mod minecraft?

I'm an AP computer science student who is pretty good. We haven't done much with graphics but are passed interfaces and inheritance (obviously first year stuff). We will be creating an android app for a final project to give you a sense of difficulty (I don't know if that's much easier than minecraft or what). Should I learn all the graphics stuff before starting mods?
