I have not purchased a mod yet but I will, so if I do, will it effect all the worlds I've created? Because I may not want Daleks (from the Doctor Who mod) running around in my survival.
For example i get a nice golden sword from a zombie pigman but its only as strong as a wooden sword and doesn't last as long. I'd rather be able to melt it down into 2 ingots.
My computer really lags while playing games, I have a "gaming computer" or a laptop that is made for games
My Specs are:
8GB RAM
Intel Core i5 2430M CPU 2.40GHZ
nVidia GeForce GTA6540M CUDA 2GB GPU
1TB HDD

I did a RAM and HDD test on it, no errors.
I have also updated the latest drivers for my graphic card
It lags at these simple games:
League of legends
Garry's Mod
Skyrim
Minecraft
Crysis 2
and more
not always does it lag but it has horrible lag spikes, including single player.
What should I do?
Like i have a few mods on minecraft, and its version 1.5, and i was just curious if i download minecraft on a new laptop and transfer the worlds off of my old laptop to my new laptop, could that work with it still having the mods and same 1.5 version?

So, I really want the minecraft Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders mod, because I finally have a computer that can run it. Unfortunately though, I get an error and a white screen when I try to load it up with shaders. I learned that it may be something to do with me having a Nvidia GeForce video card, so I downloaded the recommended drivers, to no avail. It still won't work. My current drivers are GeForce 9600 GT, with the current version at 331.82.
Hi, i was wondering something. Me and my friends want to play minecraft, on a LAN server, that is. I was wondering: Can i play with my minecraft Mods on this server? What happens if i host the server, and use mods? Will they have to mods too? Or wil it just be me being able to use the mod?
I have recently reset my computer and hav just installed The Minecraft GLSL Shaders mod and no matter wat shaders pack I use it lags I would like to get 50 fps with the seus ultra motion blur and packs similar to that my computer has 4GB and I think that's enough. So wat do I do
Okay, I used to play Minecraft 1.8.1 back in the good ol' days, and after a couple years, I felt like giving it a try, I stopped liking it because they kept adding things not necessary, like Iron Golems, but anyways, when I open Minecraft it is just a blank screen, I can see through it to my desktop and I can hear the regular Minecraft music in the background, through my speakers, I just want to play Minecraft, if you guys have any suggestions, please tell me, I haven't done anything yet, and am looking for an answer. Thank you.
Added (1). I have not installed new mods; I got a new computer in the past two years, so nothing new, .minecraft is there, but I don't find any reason to uninstall it if I just installed it.
I've noticed that some people know how to switch out minecraft versions, and they have 1.7.2, along with 1.8 and other stuff, but is there a way to have one minecraft instance using the forge and another one using the regular modloader? I think it would be nice to be able to get any mod in existence.
P.S. I'm aware that forge and modloader are incompatible on the same minecraft.jar
I know i see multiplayer on the main screen, and I already have servers that i downloaded online, like mod servers with multiple people and custom games.
But how do you play Multi-player Survival and Creative mode with friends?
I played mine craft on xbox360 at a friends house and we all had split screens and built stuff together in survival. How do you do that on PC/mac?
