Building a roof in minecraft survival?

How do I build anything taller than 2 blocks high in Minecraft. I'm playing survival xbox 360 and unless I make stairs I can't get my guy higher up. I see in building tutorials ppl moving their cursor up like they are floating.

I think minecraft on my xbox 360 has been corrupted?

Ok so all the worlds that I have are still there, but every time I load one, it starts me off in a different biome and everything that I've done on that world is gone. This happens on every world I get on and it starts in the same biome each time with everything I had gone. Is there any way I can get everything on my worlds back? And please be detailed with step by step instructions, thanks.

New Youtubers! I call for you?

If you do not have a Youtube channel or don't plan on making one don't leave yet!
Anyone making a new channel could really do with your support, so please help them by sharing and subscribing to them!

I'm looking for any Youtubers who are new to YouTube! This could be anywhere between 1-500 subscribers. (Preferable age 16-17+)
My main reason for doing this is because I want someone who is as committed as I'm to making a youtube channel to team up with me and do some recording together. (Together to the Top)
I plan on making PC recordings of Minecraft and other games as well as the xbox GTA that I have already started.
