Trying to set up a minecraft bukkit server?

I'm trying to set up a minecraft server kind of like castawaymc except instead of buying island all my friends who play will have there own island and can visit others with a warp or by a villager with a boat, also you could by supplies and a place to sell unneeded items. Also an separate area where you can mine.

What kind plugins would I use and any advice or video tutorials you know of would be really helpful!

When People try joining my portforward it says connection refused i'm useing netgear and I can Only join by localhost i tryed useing Utorrent still says the samething can someone help me Please my server keeps not working.

Minecraft won't let me play LAN?

My server shows up in my friend's server module but it won't let him join. It says 'connecting to server for a long time but just doesn't work. I'm playing on the latest snapshot BTW.

Minecraft Server permissions

So i was deleting commands for my VIP because the VIP shops where under work and i dident want them tping there. I was to lazy to backspace the commands and Highlighted them and deleted them. When i did the plugin was locked because of an error. I'm guessing it screwed up something when i did that. I used Notepad++ anyone know how to fix this?

I would love to be a admin or co-owner on a minecraft server that is pvp, Economy,1.7.4, factions, and mcmmo and all that good stuff i'm expierenced with plugins cause i use to own my own server and i know how everything works if i could be a admin or co-owner of your server that would be really great and i can help build to and stuff also.
