Should I upgrade or buy a new computer?

I have a Desktop Windows PC 64 Bit.
AMD Athlong II x2 240 2.80 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
4 GB Ram

I've never upgraded or put together a computer but I want a faster computer. I don't really use my computer for gaming, Only Minecraft. I also edit a lot of videos but it's slow for me. Should I try to upgrade and what should I upgrade to make my computer faster for editing?

Or should I just buy a new computer? I saw this one laptop for $750 that has 12 GB RAM, and a AMD A10 Processor. Should I get that one instead?

Does minecraft automatically back up your worlds?

The last time I did a system nuke when I reinstalled my OS and all of my stuffs minecraft had all of my worlds restored as if by magic. So this time I did not backup my world data and now I have zero worlds. I was so shocked as they were the product of years of fun and ingenuity. D: I'm still recovering from the blow. ///_o nyan:3

Any minecraft superflat preset genorators that actually work?

I recently lost my world that I was building on, so I decided to start another on superflat. Then, looking through websites, I found I could customise it. I thought this was the best idea in the world! But frankly, I'm too lazy to code it myself, so I needed a generator. All of the generators I had tried, however, would crash my minecraft when I put in the code. It may be they don't work for 1.7.4 or it may be that they just are faulty. If anyone has tested abd knows there's one that works, please could you give me a link.

What is the best cheapest gaming computer/laptop?

My son wants laptop/pc for christmas and I don't want to spend more then $400 on a computer.$500 absolute tops. He plays some game call roblox(i think spelling is correct), minecraft, and something called dayZ. All i know it is very slow and i hear him yell at the computer because it lags.

Is they're a way to get your stuff back if you fell out of the world in Minecraft?

I was playing minecraft and i decided to take a trip to the end, i tried jumping to get to the tower but the spawn point wasn't at the worlds ground, so as an idiot, i jumped and i also forgot this birthday present i had made for my friend, was in my inventory i tried swiching to creative but i failed doing so before i died and the present was a book i took 3 months in real life ploting and now i'm very sad and i do not have command blocks… Thank you
