Will Minecraft PC work great on a Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook?

I have a dell XPS 13. It was gift for my 15 or 16 birthday, I'm not sure. Anyways, I use the laptop for school, and I also want to use it for one game, which will be Minecraft PC. Will it run great on it? Here are the specs:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5600U CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59GHz

Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB

System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

Display Adapter: Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500

Will Windows 7 Drivers Work On Windows 8?

I have been looking everywhere for this answer but couldn't find a answer for this. WIll Windows 7 Drivers Work with Windows 8?

I got Windows 8 on my Dad's desktop running Vista before and 8 as well as my laptop running Windows 7. I have no problem playing Minecraft on my laptop, but when I try to play on my desktop, it says bad video card drivers. I do know how to upgrade my drivers using Intel driver Update Utility, but when my computer is analyzed and I look at the dropdown menu for the graphics card, it says An Intel device was detected but your operating system is not supported by this utility. Please visit Download Center to look for available software. Can I (Or should I, install the driver [Its the Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.0) the driver manually for Windows Vista or Windows 7? If you think I should do neither, please tell me and give alternate directions. I really want to get this working since my laptop is broken (the charger) and I really wanna play on my desktop.

How do i use a resource pack in minecraft? (1.6.2)?

I have it downloaded, ready to use, I unzipped it and everything. I have 2 now (zipped and unzipped) but I can't figure out how to use them, they aren't letting me choose them in minecraft options. Do I need Java to convert it? Because every video I've seen on how to use them they have java. Do I really need it
