How do you collect gold in minecraft?

Mine it (you need an Iron pick).

Like Iron and Coal, you have to find the ore and mine it.

Gold is found deeper into the ground. Try finding mines that go down a good distance, or dig your own if you have the patience! It's hard to find, but eventually you'll get a pocket or two of it.

If you find lava pools in a cave, it usually means you're far enough down that you can find gold soon. However, the gold doesn't grow necessarily in the vicinity of the lava: just that the lava indicates gold may be on the same level.

Once you find gold ore, mine it with a pick at least stone in quality (iron pick is recommended though) and pick up the ore that drops from destroying the gold ore bricks.

Then just go to a furnace and smelt the gold ore you have in your inventory, and you get a gold ignot! Hope that helps!
