Will Windows 7 Drivers Work On Windows 8?

I have been looking everywhere for this answer but couldn't find a answer for this. WIll Windows 7 Drivers Work with Windows 8?

I got Windows 8 on my Dad's desktop running Vista before and 8 as well as my laptop running Windows 7. I have no problem playing Minecraft on my laptop, but when I try to play on my desktop, it says bad video card drivers. I do know how to upgrade my drivers using Intel driver Update Utility, but when my computer is analyzed and I look at the dropdown menu for the graphics card, it says An Intel device was detected but your operating system is not supported by this utility. Please visit Download Center to look for available software. Can I (Or should I, install the driver [Its the Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.0) the driver manually for Windows Vista or Windows 7? If you think I should do neither, please tell me and give alternate directions. I really want to get this working since my laptop is broken (the charger) and I really wanna play on my desktop.

They usually may not work on Win 8.
You need to google for the driver on internet or go to the manufacturer's website for it.

Windows 8, 8,1 and 10 use the same driver structure as Windows 7 (and Vista).
Microsoft officially state that Windows 7 drivers should work on 8 & 10.

Exceptions are generally due to bugs rather than design.

(Windows has internally been "Version 6.something" from Vista all the way through to Win 10; the operating system kernel is largely the same).

If you are not sure what driver to use, grab the "Slimdrivers" utility. That's totally free and will detect any outdated drivers and find the correct updates for your hardware.

I've used it on quite a few machines and it has never messed anything up. It's the only thing of that type I know of that does not need a subscription of some form before it works fully.

(It installs another utility and does keep popping up afterwards - but no malware or nasties, both the main program and the extra one can be uninstalled once you are done with them - or uninstall the extra and set slimdrivers to not start with windows in its options; it's not like you need it every time you turn the machine on & you can then use it again if you want to.)

Why are you trying to update the processor? The processor more then likely has squat nothing to do with either the video chip on the mobo or a real video card… That's what you need to find out…
