My Minecraft suddenly got really laggy, it was fine yesterday (60 fps) now it is 0-35 fps?

Note- I have reinstalled Minecraft, got Optifine, and reinstalled Java. It did not fix the issue

What is there to do in minecraft?

I've made like 5 different worlds. I get bored after i build a house and make a wheat farm. Seriously, the starting bit is like the most exciting part and then it's boring from then on. Once i build a house there's like nothing else i wanna do. Not really keen on making anything else. Can you grow other things besides trees and wheat?

I want to buy a, and I mean BUY gifts for my whole family. We all celebrate our birthdays on a certain day, which is this week, and I forgot all about it! I only have 100 dollars to spend and I need to buy a gift for each of them, that they will like. The previous gifts were very unsuccessful and I caught my siblings trying to throw their 20 dollar presents away behind my back. I have a almost 13 year old sister, mom, dad, and almost 6 year old brother. My brother likes minecraft, and my sister, I don't really know. Also, I was thinking like mascara for my sister? She doesn't have any makeup yet but doesn't want too heavy makeup, just a little bit to look sorta pretty. And what kind of pretty but cheap bags are there? Any ideas please? A good minecraft map to try?

So i'm looking for a map similar to jungle island survival, link below to see that one. Where basically you have a world that has things to explore added into it, that you can explore or ignore whenever, preferably a newer map (as an older map will be missing things or may not interact properly with updates). Not looking specifically for any kind of storyline, just some fun exploring along with the building and collecting and stuff that minecrafts about

What is a good under 1000 dollar laptop, good for casual gaming, and video editing?

I have searched around for a while now looking for a decent laptop, but I don't know all the technical stuff on computers, so I don't know what works with "light" gaming) I'm not much of a gamer, I just want a laptop to do some minecraft and steam games once in a while on medium graphics (such as terraria, thomas was alone, starbound… Etc), record some minecraft sometimes, and be able to edit videos. This is how I would like it, if there are some things different that is ok, but this is basically how I would like it:

13-14 inch screen, less than 5 pounds, no cheap plastic (aluminum would be nice) , no touch screen (it seems to drive up the price and I don't need one, but if it has one that would be fine), less than 1 inch thick (a little over is fine), no cd drive is necessary, no webcam is necessary (but it would be great if there was one), it should be at least a 2012 model or newer, at least 4gb ram, illuminated keyboard, windows 7 / 8, chiclet keyboard

I hope there's a laptop that meets that, It might be too picky, but that was just the ideal laptop I would love.

Added (1). Btw: It needs to be a 13-14 inch screen max.

Minecraft 1.7.2 doesn't download?

I deleted my.minecraft folder and downloaded 1.7.4 again. It downloaded fine. Then I downloaded 1.7.2 but it doesn't finish downloading. After the green line gets to the end, it disappears and the launcher stays there.

I tried deleting the.minecraft folder again and download 1.7.2 first and still it doesn't finish. Then I deleted the.minecraft folder again and downloaded 1.7.4 and then I asked my friend to put his 1.7.2 folder (the one in the versions folder) and I put it in my versions folder. Minecraft loaded faster this time but again it didn't finish.
