Okay, so I want to play minecraft but it will not update. I don't have an adapter or a laptop and my Wi-Fi is far but I can still get a signal. I really want to update it so it can be more fun.

Can you try connecting it by ethernet cable to see if it will connect to the network? Not as a permanent solution but just to test.

Well, you need a Wi-Fi adapter to use Wi-Fi.
