Minecraft - Why did my horse suddenly die in the desert?

I've seen some things about animals starving to death, but I don't know if that's what happened to my horse.

About a minute or two before it died, I had fed it some sugar because a skeleton had hit it with an arrow. I fed it until it wouldn't let me feed it anymore.

I was going through a desert, got off of my horse to kill an Enderman, and when I came back all that was left was a saddle and its golden armor. I was gone for literally 30 seconds. I'm very sad my pony died.

Any ideas? Could it just be a starvation glitch? (This is also on one of my friend's servers, if that helps).

My minecraft server won't work I need technical

It keeps saying "Error occurred during initialization of VM. Could not reserve enough space for object heap. Error: Could not create Java Virtual Machine. Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit."
i'm using the basic vanilla server thats provided from the minecraft website. In the past it ran perfectly fine a few days ago but now i'm not sure what has happened or how to fix it.
my laptop is running on 64 bit windows 8.1 with 4gb ram and i setup up my server with 2gbs.
i'm also using java 7 if that helps.

I have minecraft 1.8, and so does my cousin, we wanted to play together and set up a lan world, the neither computer detects itthough, and if we type in the "local port" it says connection refused, its not firewall, i have it disaled on both PCs, i aslo try to make my own server,(a non LAN one)but when I connect using local host the connection refused?! I don't know what to do, regular servers work for e, just not LAN and my costom one, on my old computer I did LAN worlds…

Added (1). once when trying to make a server(this was multiple years ago) I tried making my dynamic ip a static one, or vise versa, can't remember and I failed, causing my computers internet to go out completely, i have no idea how I got It back, once again it was long ago and I can't remember, i think it was around that time all those things stopped working, don't know… Please help!

Not letting me log into a minecraft server?

Lately, on minecraft I've been trying to join a server but it doesn't let me join it. I know I'm not banned but it says logging in, then it says internal exception error. I've tried a few different ways to fix it but its not working still. Please answer As soon as possible thanks

Wanting to play map from Minecraft DW20 server on my own multiplayer server?

So my friend and i are playing Mc on a Direwolf 20 server. The latest pack. Unfortunately some of the mods that we're really wanting to use have been banned from the server, such as equal trade from Thaumcraft, Mystcarft is banned. That sort of thing. I really would like to take the map from the server, with all things intact (houses spawn ect.) and play it on my own multiplayer server. Any help is appreciated.
