I'm being DDOS'd! What do I do?

Right now I'm being DDos'd, but my internet can JUST take the strain. I'm guessing it'll take a few minutes for this question to actually register, though.
Some person on a Minecraft server got mad at me and probably used /whois to find my IP address.
Changing my IP or making it dynamic is not an option as I'm not contacting my ISP. Don't answer "oh but you have to!"
Right now I'm using Hotspotshield but it's not protecting me.
I've tried switching my router off, wait and on again but it's not working.
I used a speed test and it actually came from Vodafone in London, but they're not my ISP and I live nowhere near London.
Please help me. I think you can disable pings or something, but I can't configure my Virgin Super Hub [VM are my ISP]
By the way, this is in the UK. I'm not sure if this will be registered as a UK question or not.

Minecraft error when joining most online servers?

I'm running windows 8 using the teamextreme cracked version of minecraft 3.1.7 and every time I try to join a server it says failed to login: Invalid session (try restarting your game). I have tried changing the compatibility and restarting the game but nothing seems to work. Is there anything I can do to make it work?

Minecraft Multiplayer won't work?

I got a new PC, I loaded Minecraft on to it and tried to play Minecraft on it. I clicked on Multiplayer and tried to direct connect to a server that I know that works and is online. I couldn't connect and this popped up: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer: no further information. This is not the first PC I have played Minecraft on. I played it fine on my old PC and the multiplayer worked. I signed in with the same account as on my old PC. If you could find out what is going on, that would be great.

Minecraft 1.7.2 is being weird?

Okay so I have version 1.7.2 and I tried to join a server today but when I clicked on it (it's a multiplayer server btw), it said "I'm still on version 1.7.2" below the "failed to connect to server" thing.
I also tried to join MinePlex, but when I clicked on it, it said "Failed to connect to server" then under thats it said "Outdated server".
So I have two questions… What is wrong with Minecraft? And how can I fix it?
Btw whenever I start Minecraft, it will say "NO UPDATE FOUND" unless I need to do something to get the update… Anyways, Please Help As soon as possible!

Added (1). okay… So I found out there's an update of 1.7.7 for it… But I don't know how to update it. Or where to find the update.

Okay, I'd like to start off by saying I'm kind of new to this whole server thing - but I've been able to play Minecraft on my friend's server for several weeks without a problem, using update 1.6.4 (since that was the only one that worked). Suddenly though, it keeps saying Connection Refused: Connect. How do I fix this?

Added (1). I have restarted minecraft multiple times and i don't know how to join another server. I only have the one server

How to find a Minecraft server?

Ok so I've seen a lot of videos of people playing minecraft so i wanted to give it a try with a friend and we wanted to find a server for only us 2 but we can't figure it out. Please help! We have the newest version 1.7.7, thanks in advance.

MInecraft Server, and payment argument?

Hi, I payed my friend €10 so he could keep the server up for longer, he spent the money on sweets and it has yet to be used on the server as we're in the first month of payments and he has already payed for that with his own money. I had a fairly big dispute with him and his friends due to bullying of sorts and I want my money back.(€10). It's not a big claim but am I in the right to a refund of sorts, and if so is there any way i could sort of 'scare' or force him into paying me back, i can't do anything physical obviously, so can you help on this one?
