I got a new PC, I loaded Minecraft on to it and tried to play Minecraft on it. I clicked on Multiplayer and tried to direct connect to a server that I know that works and is online. I couldn't connect and this popped up: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer: no further information. This is not the first PC I have played Minecraft on. I played it fine on my old PC and the multiplayer worked. I signed in with the same account as on my old PC. If you could find out what is going on, that would be great.

What is happening is that your windows firewall is blocking MC from connecting to the internet. All you have to do is go into your control panel and disable the firewall. Your computer will probably tell you not to do this, but windows firewall does not really do anything and your computer will be perfectly fine. Hope this works for you!
