Why isn't Hamachi working for Minecraft?

I'm trying to play minecraft with my friend over Hamachi. He's over at his house, and I'm at my house. He connects to my Hamachi and I give him the ip of the hamachi server (which is also set in server properties). Even though the ip is correct, he can't connect to my server. It always says "Failed to connect" and "No further information". The server is online, everything is as it shows in all the instruction videos, but still, nothing. Can someone please help me with this, I've been at it for 3 days now and I'm really getting tired of this. Please, what are we doing wrong?!

How much ram is needed for a Attack of the B-team server (Minecraft mod-pack)?

I'm considering opening a server to run the attack of the b team mod pack for me and a few of my friends to play on. I'm going to use a hosting company, but I don't know how much ram is needed to have a stable server. This is a minecraft mod-pack.

Things I should know before creating a Minecraft Server/Helpful Tips or Websites?

Hey so me and my friend want to make a minecraft survival server together because the one we used to play on closed and we haven't been able to find one we like since, they're all full of rude/unhelpful people.

I know about the costs about running a server and such which is all fine but when i googled how to make a server it came up with lots of warnings and complicated information which in itself almost put me off xD

Basically what i'd like to be able to do for the server is to be able to install plugins and the little bits like that and have around 10 slots at first just enough for my friends to join and to explore the possibilities of later expanding the server.

I'm from the UK and most of my friends are from the US, does this change anything?

I also mainly use a Windows laptop which is a very good expensive laptop and runs minecraft very smoothly but do i need to use a PC?

Also, if i were to set the server up on one laptop, could i then move it across to another? Because my laptop is currently being repaired and i'm borrowing the computer guys laptop for the time being so is it possible to transfer the data?

Minecraft won't let me play multiplayer?

I got Minecraft in March, and have mostly been playing Survival(singleplayer), until recently I wanted to play multiplayer. I found a server, and when it didn't work, I though, 'Okay, must just be that server,' so I tried another one. Still didn't work, the screen turned black/white and says it's not responding, I've tried uninstalling it but it won't let me. I've downloaded it again, anyways, but it still won't let me. I bought the game, so that shouldn't be the reason.

Minecraft server is offline?

I go on block city jail almost everyday and, for some reason, it isn't letting me connect. I can connect to other servers however. I went on the website and it says: Server Status Offline
What does this mean?

VirtualBox server hosting?

I was wondering if Oracle's VirtualBox/(Virtual machine) could host a server for games like Minecraft, hl2dm, etc. Without me having to run my computer? Or is VB only an online-only-while-computer-is-running type deal?
