ATI 3000 Series Driver, what the heck is going on and why and what and how?

I can't even find out exactly what the integrated graphics are, but its an ATI Radeon 3000 series. I installed windows 7, it worked fine. I installed windows server 2012, and i was stuck with the basic display driver from microsoft. Catalyst said that its up to date? I got a manual driver from a mysterious website, and it worked. I got windows 8.1 now, same catalyst problem, but my computer says it has the "ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics (Microsoft Corperation - WDDM v1.1)" driver.

Why does it say MS Corp? And minecraft says that it can't find an accellerated open GL mode. This occurs with the basic MS Display driver, which is why i updated the last time.

So, why will it not work? And is there any manual download for the drivers? Because this automatic BS is automaticly not working.

Added (1). I would understand that it doesn't work in windows 8, but it works on Server 2012… Which not only is based off 8, but you would think that if anything wasn't compatible with a game or graphics, t would be the server edition.

Added (2). Additional Details:
It is a custom built computer.

Sounds like the drivers just don't work with Win 8. Looks like your going back to Win 7…

The MS driver is a generic driver. It gets a image on the screen but not much else. It doesn't have OpenGL support which is why Minecraft doesn't work.

I'd also recommend visiting the computer manufacturer's web site and download the Windows 8 or 8.1 graphics driver for your model number.
