My nether portal in minecraft won't light?

So I put obsidian in its correct shape so I know it's not the shape of the portal. Then I tried to light it with flint and steel and it just catches on fire. But I have heard people say it works differently on survival, but I'm on creative, and I'm on pocket edition. If that helps at all. Lol

Minecraft - Mob Spawning Troubles?

Ok I was on minecraft pe (I'm getting Xbox 360 edition for Christmas) And I was wondering does the light from an active furnace stop mobs from spawning nearby? Say I'm in a cave with no torches left, could I smelt something in a furnace and the light stops mobs spawning? Also does glow stone stop mobs spawning?

Minecraft Performance

I have 3 GB allocated to my minecraft.
As soon as I start up minecraft it just instantly uses all of it in the task manager, I think this is causing lag because I'm having quite a bit of it. Any help?

Is there anyway to make my wolves not hostile in minecraft pe?

I was making a wolf pet shop and I captured some wolves with minecarts and rails and while I was getting the wolf out of the minecart I accidentally hit it and they were wild wolves. Also sorry if this is in the wrong category I don't know how to change it while I'm submitting it.

If I'm getting a new phone will my minecraft worlds save from my old phone to my new phone?

Please write if they are or if I have to do something well I'm getting a new phone. My phone right now is ios4 has minecraft pe on it and has all my saved worlds that are important to me. If I get my new phone the 5S will I still have my minecrft worlds that were on my old phone the 4S on my new phone?
