I'm looking for a laptop for a sophomore high school student. It will be used for schoolwork and for playing games such as minecraft and league of legends. The max price is $350.

So, my dad promised me to buy me any PC games if I reach the first rank in class. So I did. But I'm still choosing between Minecraft and Civilization V: Brave New World. And the problem is, my dad only allows me to buy one of those games. And I know I should save my allowance to buy the other game, but in the priority chart, which one should I buy first?
Plus, why do you recommend one of these games, and please tell me the advantages and disadvantages of each game.
Currently I use a PC that's installed with Norton Antivirus. And I'm afraid that Minecraft will be blocked by Norton. But in Civ V case, I know that Civ V won't be blocked by Norton because I installed the base game and God & Kings expansion.

Added (1). And I like both strategy and creativity games. I like the types like building stuffs like houses or cities, and then I can conquer other's cities. (That leans to Civ V). But I also like the game where I can create my own house, my own farms, and team up with my friends. (Which leads to Minecraft and The Sims series.)

I've seen many graphics cards that are only 1 gb that are way better than most 2 gb graphics cards. That doesn't really make sense to me. What should I look for in the specs of a graphics card to tell if it is good enough to run even minecraft on at least 60 fps.

I'm looking to upgrade to windows 7 from windows vista. I just nned to know if these components will work. PS i'm not looking to do much gaming its just vista sucks, though i may play some minecraft

I want to get a windows 8 tablet that fits the following requirements:
- Not too expensive; under $500 if possible, under $700 at the most
- Can do everything a regular laptop can; USB devices, multimedia, etc.
- Fairly powerful; can easily do many tasks you would do on a regular PC, including Minecraft-level gaming and PowerPoint presentations
- Has a compatible keyboard… I don't want anything that I would have to find my own keyboard for
- Much better in every way compared to those 'Acer Aspire One' laptops… I've had bad memories from those, and I'm not looking for getting the same experience again
If you know, have or recommend a Windows 8 laptop/tablet hybrid that follows all of these requirements, tell me and thanks.
My little brother is 12 and his friend lives two houses away from us and they're talking to each other online while playing Minecraft. Haha so they're virtually playing together.
