Why is minecraft so badly optimized?

I can run it on an Intel hd laptop about the same as an alienware 13 and my gaming desktop. And they all have random lag spikes. Is it because it's made in Java?

How to PLAY LAN NO INTERNET BUT WITH A ROUTER AND ETHERNET CABLES?

Hoping you can help me out on this one. I'm currently on holiday and using my phone hotspot to send this message, just about to run out lol. I was wondering how we could play lan with a new router and Ethernet cable connecting our laptops together, I brought the router and everything down with me but it doesn't want to work D: (tried connecting the laptops with the Ethernet cables through the router and attempted to lay borderlands 2, l4d2, minecraft and modded minecraft and none of them worked!) someone help me, stuck here for 5 more days D:

PS: It's a Telstra router. When I connect to it through Wi-Fi or Ethernet it bring up an internet page with info like logging into the router at home with the Internet, I can see my friends computer connected through the spider web like picture aswell.

Where can I get Minecraft that's safe and free?

I'm only 13, so I don't have a credit card. My parents don't want to buy Minecraft for me so until then, I have to wait for 5 years… So where can I get it? And any other games you can suggest? I want to expand my gaming…

What is the best gaming laptop around 1000$?

I was wondering what the best gaming laptop around 1000$ would be. The reason I'm not getting a desktop is because I want something portable and my parents pay half if I get a laptop. I would play minecraft and battlefield and other games like that if I were to play battlefield I would like to be able to run medium settings smoothly.
