Minecraft: How do I make my roller coaster work without the cart rocking?

I have never heard of that… Anyways you can push the cart using a minecart furnace like a train. You put the coal in and it propels the car and all subsequent cars forward. You'd have to reverse it to put it backwards but it allows you to make the maneuvers without the power rails or loss of traction.
