Do you usually switch back and forth between games?

I've had fallout 4 for a couple weeks and I'm like 8 hours into it, but I also own the witcher 3 and I haven't even started that. Should I start the witcher 3 and return to fallout 4 eventually or should I at least try to finished the main story of fallout before starting the witcher?

This is complicated. First off, you'll get mixed answers with this question.

Some people switch back and fourth between whatever they want.

Others commit to a game until they've completed it 100%, then it is shelved and revered, or hated, forever.

Me personally, I have categorized my games in different categories.

- Short games (Less than 10 hours of gameplay)
- Medium Games (Between 10-25 hours of gameplay)
- Large (Between 25-50 hours of gameplay)
- Massive (More than 50 hours of gameplay)
- Endless (This mainly consists of fighting games, casual games and some free roam games, such as Minecraft, Skyrim or GTA V. This also includes MMOs)

Anyways, I have categorized these games using the useful website "howlongtobeat.com" and I usually pick one game from each category as a "project". I switch between these 2-5 games as much as I want, and the rest remain on the shelf until room opens up for another one.

However, if I feel the need to branch out and play something else at any given time, I will. It just won't be anything above casual play and I won't make any goals.

My goals usually go like this when playing a game (assuming I like it. If I hate it, I won't play it):

- Complete the story.
- Complete the side quests.
- Complete the extras.
- Make and complete personal goals.
- Crank up the difficulty.
- Collect the achivements/trophies.

Once I get the full number I want or the Platinum Trophy, I move on to another game. If the game is really fun, I may return to it occasionally to mess around, like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Otherwise they're retired, like Batman: Arkham Asylum for me.

Is it ok to switch back and fourth between games? There's no problem with it. The only time it becomes a problem is when you make it a problem.

If switching back and fourth is bugging you, hide all of your discs, uninstall all of your games and work on only one game at a time. This may take some discipline training. All you need to do is pretend this "game" you've chosen is your soul mate. By deleting the game and/or choosing another game, you're essentially killing/cheating on your soul mate. So don't do it.

Hope this helps. Take care. Very rarely. I tend to stick with one console game and one mobile/portable game (for work breaks, dr's appts, etc) at a time. If i wander off to another game it's usually because i finished or tired of the one i was playing and probably wotn return. It really depends with the person. When I play a game for a long time like Fallout 4 or Witcher 3, it tends to get boring for me, probably because I've been experiencing the same gameplay again and again. So what I do is I play a short burst of any game I have, it could be a sports game or even a fighting game, just to get me out of that repetitive cycle of picking dialogue options, and mowing down Quests to gain exp.
