So I'm probably going to be getting a MacBook Pro 15" 2015 soon, and I wanted to know if it would be good for playing minecraft, I will probably play it abit and I wanted to know if it will be laggy or not? Also I might download shaders so is it ok with shaders aswell?
Is MacBook Pro good for minecraft?
Most all computers do pretty well with minecraft especially relatively new ones so yeah but shaders might not work on just generic productivity computers if they do it will most likely lag post specs of macbook pro so I can tell you
Yes and no.
It's ok I guess, but the reason the Macbook Pro was made is for work.
PC is considered the gamer's choice for computers with youtubers using to play their games because it a bit more powerful.
I run games from my Macbook Air (getting a pro soon) and have had absolutely no issues with the Air 2014 running any games (even Sims 3) no lag, no sticking, no glitches.
The only thing I will say is these games can make your computer hot so you need a cooling tray or cooling fans to help it run properly and not make as much noise.
Are you talking about the Retina model? Wait stupid question they don't make the old one any more… I'm running the nvidia model of the 15 inch, and I get around 60fps normal minecraft. Minecraft isn't that graphics intensive, so it can be on a lot of computers. I do have shaders though, and run at around 30 fps if I adjust the settings right. That's on both KUDA shaders, Sildurs shaders, and Lagless shaders. Keep in mind that's MEDIUM versions, I installed Sildurs's high and ultra, and they froze my computer. Also SEUS doesn't work on mac, don't ask why I have no idea. But with normal minecraft it certainly won't be laggy. The MacBook Pro is designed for professional graphics like video editing and stuff, it can handle minecraft. Not as good as a gaming PC, it's kind of in the medium zone. But I love mac, and it handles my minecraft shaders gameplay great.
SUMMARIZE: Great fps for average gameplay, shaders it does OK. I'm not sure what the lower 15 inch does, but it should still be decent. Lagless shaders will certainly work fine.
Should work fine apart from it getting a bit warm when gaming.
No off course not MAC's are terrible for any kind of gaming, you will get a much better experience with a windows laptop half the price. The only reason you should buy a mac is for work, or to show off that you are a rich kid
Well, since Minecraft for Mac exists, then it should work fine. Maybe not amazing results with certain mods, but it will work good.
Minecraft could probobly run on windows 98 LOL. Jk i don't know but yea it should be
People are running Minecraft on PowerBook G-4s, so on a late model MacBook, fine. The Shadders mods specifically state in their documentation that they are optimized to run fine on Macs. As a comparison, the Geekbench test speeds for the G-4 PB are <900 while the MacBook Pro 15" is >15,000, or 16+ times faster.
Macbook pros aren't good at anything
