No it is actually very smooth and can render very quickly

I've seen a ton of people play Minecraft on MacBook Air. It's really smooth. Unless, of course, you're using a whole lotta TNT, which will lag the game. MacBook Air is pretty decent for casual gaming and has an excellent battery life.
