How to use my xbox controller for windows 8?

I want to play minecraft with my xbox wired controller on my windows laptop, so I downloaded something on microsoft and now if I press the home button on the controller it's like this: How to use my xbox controller for windows 8

which is good, but when I move my buttons it doesn'y work? I tried searching joy.cpl on my laptop, and yes it does show the things moving when I move the buttons but I want to play minecraft using the controller, but it's just not working?

The Xbox version of Minecraft is different from the PC version. You can't use a controller for the PC version because of this. Why would you want to use a controller in the first place?

On the PC, it's up to individual games to support the controller (or not).

Minecraft on the PC doesn't natively support controllers.

You can use 3rd-party software like XPadder or Joy2Key to convert controller commands into something the game can handle, but it's not 100% effective.
