How to use a controller on windows 10 minecraft?

I have a Logitech controller that seems to work or most games but it completely undetected or at least unresponsive when I'm trying to play minecraft. Do I need to use a Xbox controller?

Windows 10 minecraft is set up to handle controllers, that's what it said when I bought it.

Based on what I've read, it only supports 360 controllers or XBO controllers.

A general PC controller may not work.
