Why don't atheists understand that if you dig too deep, you'll fall into lava?

I Don't understand why it's a sin just to ask questions. Is it Really a sin Just to be Curious and want to Learn More about the World around us? Or would God(who doesn't exist) want us to be stupid. I Don't just believe Everything I hear; I WILL Ask questions and I WILL try to find answers
