I was wondering why my Minecraft lags so much I don't understand I have a better computer than most: EVGA GTX 1050Ti SSC AMD FX-4300?

Probably CPU related then, are you using any special mods? Detonating a bunch of TNT? The FX-4300 isn't the fastest CPU when it comes to per thread performance, it's an older CPU plus Intel usually do better in that department.

Minecraft is single threaded last I checked. That means it's only gonna use one core of your CPU, and the FX-4300 has some pretty slow cores for when it came out.

I'd check the CPU load with Task Manager. Is it using 25% or more of your CPU?
Then I'd check the GPU load using MSI Afterburner or GPU-Z. Is it maxing out?
Naturally you've got to test this while playing the game.

If the CPU is maxing out but the GPU is not, then the game is probably waiting on your CPU.
And I doubt Minecraft would max out a 1050 Ti…

Otherwise I'd check system temperatures (I use Speccy) to make sure something isn't being throttled down because it's overheating.

Or, also check your RAM usage in Task Manager while you play the game. If you're maxing out your RAM, any game will perform terribly.

Bad drivers are another source of poor system performance. Make sure they're updated.
