Okay so basically, a few weeks ago i got a new laptop to be specific its an Alienware 17 2013 model, and my old laptop was an ASUS N56V. And all of the specs on my alienware are rather higher than what i had on my asus. Majority of the programs run wonderfully on this Alienware as to where on the ASUS they did not. But games like Minecraft, and the original Bioshock ran much smoother on my old one, both of the computers had the setting maxed out too. But my old one could hardly run Crysis or Farcry 3 on low settings where this new laptop can max them out. After i noticed the bioshock lag after the first boot, i went back and found my Farcry 3 was running ever so slightly lower than earlier (Average 40-50 frames, was getting 30, so still very playable). The specs on the alienware are as follows (Sorry if i forget some of the specs)
Alienware 17:
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 770M
CPU: Intel Core i7 4700M (Quad core, 2.4 GHZ, Turbo boost to 3.4 GHZ)
RAM: 16 GB
1.5 TB (750 GB x 2); 80 GB (Solid State) 7200rpm
and the ASUS had:
GPU: Nvidia Geforce 635M
CPU: Intel Core i7 3630QM (I think Quadcore and forsure 2.4 GHZ)
RAM: 12GB
And a 1TB HDD (Don't remember the rpm)
So if you could give me any answers as to why its running slower it'd be greatly appreciated. I got a 2 year warranty if it sounds like a GPU or CPU issue. But at the same time i don't see how it could be if some games are running phenominally, as to where others seem to struggle just as bad or worse as my old one
