So i'm level 32. I have a diamond sword in minecraft and i continuously put on and take off the sword from the enchantment table to get a higher level then 7 but it doesn't work. I'm playing the xbox 360 version of minecraft.
Why can't i get an enchantment level higher than 7 in Minecraft?

You need to place some book shelves near your enchantment table. Every bookshelf (which must be exactly one block away) increases the maximum number of levels the enchantment bench can use.
On the PC it originally took 30 bookshelves to max out the table, but it was later cut to 15. I do not know if the XBOX has received the patch that reduces it yet.
