Why does minecraft freeze for a few seconds then carry on as normal?

I have 8gb of ram 1.6ghz quad core 1tb hard drive and an amd radeon 7600g graphics card which has 758mb of video memory just on the card, is there any way I can fix this?

Are you on a server? Could be the internet.

If not, then it sounds like it could be your computer lagging, as it's trying to play it. Look up the specifications/recommended size to run minecraft, without problems or lags.

Some computers just aren't meant to run games and will lag, every now and then, no matter what you do. Minecraft isn't that big, really, and doesn't need much so it might be when the game is saving something.

Could be Java, are you running a 32-bit system or a 64-bit system?

To find out:
Assuming you're using windows,
Go to Start, Right Click "Computer" and Click On "Properties"
Scroll down 'til you see "System type" and check.

If it says 32-bit, maybe your Java is outdated and probably needs updating
If it says 64-bit, download 64-bit Java and install it.
